Life

I split my time between Chattanooga, TN and Fayetteville, WV — two towns with world-class outdoor access and tight-knit communities. Weekends are for getting outside or working on my 110-year-old house.

Outside the day job, I enjoy running, swimming, and climbing. I run a homelab and an orchestrated AI agent workflow for personal projects — agents delegating across sub-agents, wired through terminal-first tooling.

I'm also studying vehicle dynamics, dialing in suspension, and working toward my first HPDE season.

Work

I'm fortunate to be able to work remotely as a Program Director for a Fortune 500 managed care provider. I lead cross-functional teams bridging data engineering, analytics, and business strategy. It's rewarding work that impacts tens of thousands of co-workers and many millions of customers.

Future

  • AI leadership. I've spent 25 years teaching myself new domains — networking, systems, devops, data engineering, software. AI is the current one. I'm building orchestrated agent workflows at home and I want to do it professionally.
  • A culture that respects focused work over seat time.
  • A place where the energy I bring to homelab projects is the norm. I've been a self-taught nerd my entire life and I'm not going to stop.

Albums

2019 The Jackson 5 — Gold (2005) hits. that Motown sound. Leon Bridges — Coming Home (2015) Incredible Delta sounds. Herb Alpert — Rise (1979) bonkers. The Runaways — The Runaways (1976) Early Joan Jett. The Police — Outlandos D'Amour (Remastered 2003) (1978) Co-worker and I played two albums from the Police last week. I never knew that the drummer was Moroccan? Allegedly, they started the punk/reggae vibe because they were not able to get folks digging their more eclectic sound. The Police — Reggatta De Blanc (1979) Ok. Sting is both dark AF and an odd-ball. I dig it. Walking on the Moon is a great song, ostensibly about floating home on positive vibes from his girlfriends house. We've all been there. Photay — Photay (2014) A Patrick recommendation. Daft Punk — Discovery (2001) The year I graduated High School rewarded me with this incredible album. An all time favorite. The Beach Boys — Endless Summer (1974) Most of these songs could get you beat up at the beach in New Jersey. Growing up I think my Father enjoyed these albums, but I don't know why. The opening of Good Vibrations is legendary. Propagandhi — How to Clean Everything (1993) Formative in my early teens. Johnny Cash — At Folsom Prison (1968) Johnny Fucking Cash. The Budos Band — The Budos Band II (2007) Charles Bradly's backing band formed Budos. Tight, tight, tight. Broken Social Scene — You Forgot It In People (2003) an old favorite Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band — Safe as Milk (1967) "Catching up, huh?" Gang Starr — Moment of Truth (1998) Seminal and socially woke. Tyler, The Creator — IGOR (2019) Interesting. I don't know enough about the Artist. Alex, Tokyo Rose — Akuma II (2019) Bembeya Jazz National — Discothèque 76 (1976) wonderful afro-jazz. The third track is a long-time favorite Orville Peck — Pony (2019) Shoegaze-Outlaw-Country...AWESOME! Night Moves — Colored Emotions (2012) Smooth and fun. Little sexy. Tom Petty — Wildflowers (1994) Classic album with some of what I think is his best work. Buckethead — Colma (1998) I don't know anything about Buckethead except that it seems to be a fun mockery of Slash's aestetic choices. Super enjoyable progressive instrumental guitar work. Better Oblivion Community Center — Better Oblivion Community Center (2019) think I'll have to give this one a few more listens over the coming weeks. Initial impressions are that it's fucking incredible. The Horrible Crowes — Elsie (2011) Gaslight Anthem front-man does a Tom Waits, Nick Cave inspired album. The first few tracks destroyed me. I like the contrast of upbeat tempo with crushing lyrics. Beck — Colors (2017) Beck. One of those artists who I expect will put out at least interesting if Circa Survive — Juturna (2005) I originally received this album from the lead singer at a 24 hour dinner Daikaiju — Daikaiju (2005) In Japanese, Daikaiju translates to "giant monster" Recorded in *2003*, but not released until *2005*.
